Product Name: VisonColor Nonsanded Grout
Manufacturer: Vison Tech Products, LLC
Product Description
VisonColor nonsanded grout is a polymer-modified Portland cement-based colored grout. It provides highly wear-resistant, color-consistent tile joints from 1⁄8" to 1⁄2" wide in residential to extra heavy commercial applications. VisonColor nonsanded grout is primarily used for floor tile applications, or for walls and countertops with wider joints. VisonColor nonsanded grout performances are excellent in virtually any environment, including high traffic or wet conditions. All VisonColor brand grouts chemically control the curing process to help ensure that grouts are evenly colored. The result is rich, uniform pigmentation and strong, smooth joints. Mixed with water, VisonColor nonsanded grouts meet ANSI A118.6 Specifications for Commercial Cement Grout.

· Interior/exterior use
· Meets ANSI A118.6 specifications.
Limitations
Should not be installed when the ambient surface temperature is lower than 50°F (10°C) or higher than 95°F (35°C). Some ceramic tile, marble, or stone can be scratched, stained, or damaged by sanded or pigmented grout. Tile with high absorption, surface porosity, or rough, textured surfaces and certain types of porcelain may require sealing prior to grouting to prevent staining. Color variation can occur due to tile type, tile porosity, job site conditions, application, and cleaning techniques. Variation can be minimized by following directions and using as little water as possible for cleanup.
Applicable Standards
Mixed with water and tested in accordance with ANSI A118.6 Specifications for Ceramic Tile Grouts, Commercial Portland Cement.
Installation:
General Surface Prep
Tile or stone must be firmly bonded to a sound substrate, and setting material must be cured a minimum of 24 – 48 hours before grouting. Grout joints must be free of excess setting materials and job site debris. Use a sealer to seal tile or stone subject to staining. Care should be exercised when applying a sealer so that the surface and not the tile edges are covered.
Mixing Ratios - powder to water
Mix 2 qt (1.89 L) clean water to 25 lb (11.34 kg) grout.
Mixing Procedures
Mix with a trowel or low-speed mixer (less than 300 rpm) to achieve a smooth, lump-free consistency. Let the mixture stand (slake) for 10 minutes, and then remix and use. Periodically remix to keep the mixture workable, but do not add water, which can weaken the joint, cause color variation and possibly cause shrinkage, cracks, and pinholes. Discard grout when it becomes too stiff to work.
Application
Fully pack the joints between the tiles by spreading VisonColor nonsanded grout with a clean, hard rubber float. Work only a small area at a time.
Apply in a diagonal direction across the joint lines to prevent the grout from being dragged out of the joints. Go over each area several times from all directions to make sure that the grout is fully packed in. Remove any excess grout from the surface of the tile by holding the float at a 90° angle to the surface and moving it diagonally across the joints. Repeat the entire process until all joints are grouted.
Clean-up
Allow the grout to firm up in the joints for approximately 30 minutes to an hour. Wet a grout sponge in a pail containing cool, clean water and wring out all excess liquid. Move the dampened sponge across the tiles diagonally to smooth the grout down to the proper height in the joint. Continue this procedure, repeatedly rinsing the sponge in clean water and wringing out excess liquid. Do not allow excess cleaning water to remain on the surface of the grout joint. Allow the grout to dry an additional hour before removing any remaining grout residue with a dampened terry cloth towel.
Protection
Protect the finished installation from traffic or impact for at least 24 hours after grouting.
Working Time
Approximately 1 hour depending on ambient temperature
Temperature Range for Installation
Do not grout below 50°F or above 90°F ambient temperature.
Curing
Curing time is affected by ambient, temperature and humidity. Mist the installation with water to maintain a moist atmosphere over tile surface. Control temperature within 10 degrees when possible to avoid shading.
Maintenance Cleaning
Do not use chemical cleaner containing acid for routine maintenance programs. VisonColor Nonsanded Grout itself is protected from mold and mildew growth, but the organic material on the surface can provide a food source. It is recommended periodically clean the surface with T.S.P solution to remove dirt, food residues, and scums which prevented mold and mildew growth
Sealing and Staining
Vapor breathable sealers are used to help prevent staining of grout joints. Consult with sealer manufacturers' information.
